Robotic prostatectomy is a state-of-the-art surgery that removes the prostate gland (and, when needed, surrounding tissue) in patients with prostate cancer. Using the da Vinci® surgical system, our surgeons control robotic arms equipped with miniature instruments and a high-definition 3D camera, providing enhanced vision, dexterity, and accuracy compared with traditional open or standard laparoscopic surgery.
Robotic prostatectomy is typically recommended for men with localized or locally advanced prostate cancer who are healthy enough for general anesthesia. It can also be considered for selected higher-risk cases to optimize cancer control.
